Healthcare & Life Sciences Partner Sam Louis was cited in an article published by The Markup examining the buying and selling of doping drugs on Darkweb. The company bans injectable drugs, but an investigation by The Markup revealed 66 listings for them in August and September. Furthermore, the drugs found were not on the FDA’s approved drug list, and it is illegal to sell misbranded or unapproved new drugs.
Most of the listings claimed to be for lab or research purposes, not human consumption, but reviews indicated that some buyers were using them anyway. Mr. Louis called these disclaimers “simple disguise and cover” when explaining how sellers could still be prosecuted despite the disclaimers. He added that consumers who purchase these unapproved drugs and use them for doping are putting their health and safety at risk, saying “it can really be a life and death decision.”
